Open Responsible play

Play for fun

Points are for play. They have no money value: they are never paid out and can't be swapped for money, Gems or anything outside the app. What you win in a verse is points, a place on the ranks, badges and looks for your card, nothing more.

Voting, free verses, the daily prize wheel and the weekly contest never cost anything.

Playing for points is your choice

In the iPhone app, putting points on a verse is off until you turn on Play for points in Settings, and only someone 18 or older can turn it on. You can turn it off again at any time in the same place: after that you play free verses only.

Under 18 you can't put points on a verse in the app. The most an adult can put on one verse depends on their level.

Points you buy can't be put on a verse at all. Only points you earn by playing can.

The paid box

The paid box costs 100 points and gives a prize in points, never money. It is for adults (18+, by a birthday you enter). Before you open one, the app shows the chance of every prize and the average return, and you confirm you have seen them. On average a box gives back less than it costs (never more than 90 %), so it is not a way to get more points.

You can open at most 10 paid boxes a day and spend at most 2,000 points a week on them. Every chance in the app, with the real numbers, is on youvs.app/legal/odds.

Spending limits

Buying points or Gems is for adults only, and every purchase goes through Apple. Gems have their own limits: at most 10,000 Gems a day and 25,000 a week, and at most 10,000 held at once.

Your iPhone can stop purchases in every app: in iPhone Settings, Screen Time's Content & Privacy Restrictions can turn In-app Purchases off. On a child's iPhone, Family Sharing's Ask to Buy sends every purchase to a parent first. Your Apple account's purchase history shows everything you have bought.

Keeping track of time

Screen Time can set a daily time limit for the app (App Limits, in iPhone Settings). You can turn off alerts for the app at any time in iPhone Settings or in the app's own Settings.

Breaks

If you want a break, write to us through Help & support in Settings, or at support@youvs.app, and say for how long: 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. During a break you can't buy anything in the app (points, Gems, the season pass), send gifts or open the paid box, and the break can't be ended early. Voting, free verses and your points stay as they are.

You can also delete your account at any time in Settings.

Signs it is time for a break

Playing should feel good. It may be time to stop for a while if you play for longer than you meant to, spend more than you planned, feel upset when you lose points, or put off sleep, school, work or people for it.
