What points are

Points are how you play and keep score on YouVS. You get points by playing, voting and reaching milestones, and adults can buy points in the app. Points are a licence to use a feature of the app. They are not money, have no cash value, are never paid out and can't be exchanged for money, Gems or anything outside YouVS.

You can't sell, trade or transfer points, or move them to another account, except by playing in the app. Points stay with your account and don't expire while your account is open.

Earning points

You earn points by winning verses, voting and calling winners, streaks, mystery boxes and other rewards the app shows. Rewards paid by YouVS (not by other players) are capped at 500 points a day (UTC) for each person, except the weekly contest prize. A reward is paid only once, even if you tap twice.

Playing for points

A verse can be played for points: each player puts in the same number of points, and the winner gets all of it. Nothing is taken out. If a verse ties, is called off or is deleted, everyone gets their points back. If you accept a verse with points in it and don't post your clip in time, you lose those points to the other player.

In the iPhone app, playing for points is off unless you are 18 or older (by your birthday or by the age range Apple shares) and turn on Play for points in Settings. Under 18, or with neither a birthday nor an 18+ age range, you can never have more than 100 points on one verse. How much you can put on one verse also depends on your level.

Buying points

You can buy packs of 500, 1,000 or 5,000 points. In the iPhone app, packs are sold only through Apple's In-App Purchase, and the price is the one the App Store shows you. The 5,000 pack comes with 10 % extra points, and your first pack ever comes with 50 % extra, once per account.

You need to be 18 or older (a birthday that makes you 18 or older) to buy points. You accept these terms before your first purchase, and again when they change.

Points are added to your account after Apple confirms the payment and our server checks it. Nothing is added before that.

Bought points are for spending

Points you buy (and their bonus points) are for spending in the app: card skins, effects, the paid box and other items. They can never be put on a verse, used to back a player or used as an entry fee. Only points you earn by playing can do that. When you spend, bought points are used first. If a spend is refunded, the points go back to where they came from.

The paid box

The paid box costs 100 points and gives a prize in points, never money. It is for adults (18+, by a birthday you enter). The chance of every prize and the average return are shown in the app before you open a box, and you confirm you have seen them. On average a box returns less than it costs (never more than 90 %). You can open at most 10 a day and spend at most 2,000 points a week on boxes.

Refunds

Purchases in the iPhone app are made with Apple, and only Apple can refund them: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a purchase, or a payment is reversed, the points it added are taken back, as far as you still have them. If they were already spent, or after a reversal, we may pause buying on your account until support looks at it.

Except as Apple refunds or the law requires, purchases are final.

When we can take points back

We can take back points that were paid by mistake, won by cheating or by breaking the Terms or Community guidelines (for example with fake accounts or fixed votes), or added by a payment that was refunded.

If your account ends

Points have no value outside your account. If you delete your account, or we close it for breaking the Terms, your points are lost and are not refunded.

Changes and contact
