Community guidelines

This is a short summary while the full terms are written.

The short version

YouVS is for showing skill and having fun head to head. Be someone people want to play against. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive users: if you post it or do it, it comes down, and you can lose your account.

These rules cover everything on YouVS: clips, stories, captions, comments, messages and photos in chats, live video and live chat, weekly contest entries, games you make (name, description and rules), your @name, display name, photo and bio.

Keep it safe

No dangerous acts. Don't post stunts, challenges or games that could hurt you or anyone else: jumping from heights, climbing stacks, fire, running blindfolded, choking or eating challenges, racing in the street, or anything like them.

No drinking games, and nothing that shows people under 21 drinking, or anyone drinking to win.

Nothing that encourages self-harm, suicide or an eating disorder. If you or someone you know is struggling, contact local emergency services or a crisis line right away.

No weapons, drugs or illegal acts, and no false alarms or pranks that could cause panic or put people in danger.

Keep it kind

No bullying, harassment or threats, and no ganging up on someone in comments, messages or a live.

No hate. Never attack people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age.

Verses are about skill. Never ask people to rate someone's looks or body, and never mock how someone looks.

Don't film or post people who didn't agree to it, and don't share anyone's private information (where they live, their phone number, their school).

No sexual content

No nudity, sexual acts or sexual talk, and nothing made to be sexually suggestive.

Never anything that sexualises a person under 18, and never ask a minor for photos, personal details or a meeting. We report child sexual abuse material and child exploitation to the authorities, and we close the account.

Keep it honest

Only post clips you made, where you appear or you hold the rights. Never post someone else's clip as yours, and never use music, film or TV you don't have the rights to.

Don't pretend to be someone else, and don't post AI or edited clips made to trick people that something real happened.

Don't cheat a verse: no fake accounts, no swapping votes, no getting friends to vote from shared phones, no fixing a result with the other player.

No spam, scams or ads, and no links that send people somewhere to buy something.

Photos in chats

Send photos only of yourself, or of people who agreed to it. Never send nude or sexual photos, and never ask anyone for one. If you turned on Apple's Sensitive Content Warning (or a parent turned on Communication Safety), your iPhone blurs photos that may show nudity before you see them; tap to see it only if you want to, and report it if it breaks these rules.

Words we filter

Some words are blocked in @names, display names, bios, captions, comments, messages, group chat names, game names and rules: slurs, sexual terms and words that push self-harm. If you see "That word isn't allowed", change the text. Getting past the filter doesn't make the words allowed.

Report it

Every clip, story, comment, message, profile, game and live can be reported: tap More (the dots) or hold down on a comment or message, then Report. In a chat you can also report or block the person from the top of the chat. Pick a reason. "Child safety" reports go to the front of the line. "Dangerous act" is for stunts and risky challenges. "Not their clip" is for a clip someone took from someone else.

After you report something you won't see it again: a reported clip, story, comment or game is hidden for you, and so is a person you report, except inside a verse you are playing in yourself. The person you report isn't told who reported them.

Block and mute

Block someone from their profile. They can't message you, invite you to a verse, add you to a group or comment on your clips, and you won't see each other's posts. Mute someone to stop seeing them without blocking. You can unblock in Settings.

What we do

Reports reach our team at once. We aim to review every report within 24 hours, and child safety reports first.

If something breaks these rules, we remove it. The person who posted it gets a strike. Three strikes within 90 days pause posting, playing, voting, commenting and messaging for 24 hours. A strike ends after 90 days.

For serious or repeated breaks we can suspend or close the account without strikes first: anything sexual involving a minor, threats of violence, hate, or posting dangerous acts again after a removal. We may tell the police when someone could be in danger.

If you think we got it wrong

Write to us from Help & support in Settings, or email support@youvs.app, and say what was removed and why you think it should come back. A person on our team will look at it again.
